SYLLABUS EVENING
In many ways, a school is defined by the events and activities that take place within its space and time—both of which are becoming increasingly precious to us. It often feels as though our children started school just yesterday, and yet here they are, already in the eighth grade, ready to embark on their journey into the world of science and society. Their success in this world will depend not only on the knowledge they have acquired but also on the wisdom granted by God and nurtured within the school environment. At St. Sava Academy, this environment truly embodies the warmth of home and the spirit of family.
The words of many great orators and renowned scientists—such as St. Bishop Nicholas, St. Ave Justin, Tesla, and Pupin—remind us that the foundation of their hard work and education was rooted in domestic upbringing and strong moral values.
It is upon these same principles that education at Sveti Sava Academy is built. On Thursday evening, September 12, the Academy hosted another successful Syllabus Evening in its premises.
Among the honored guests, we were pleased to welcome Mr. Sava Opačić, the founder of the CHECK IT platform and company.
Also in attendance was Mrs. Dalila Crespo, a representative of the non-public sector in Chicago’s school education system (CPS). She introduced Project TITLE 1, which provides supplementary instruction in Reading and Mathematics for students who have recently moved from their homeland or face challenges in understanding English and Mathematics.

We are also in discussions to introduce advanced Mathematics courses or additional instruction, marking a significant step forward in the Academy’s natural-academic direction.
