We aim to raise $3.2 million to secure a permanent home for St. Sava Academy, covering the purchase and essential transition expenses. Achieving this goal will provide a stable, innovative environment for our students and ensure a lasting legacy in the community.
St. Sava Academy is raising funds to secure a permanent home by acquiring the St. Paul Lutheran Church and School property.
The $3.2 million target will cover the purchase price, laying the foundation for a state-of-the-art educational facility.
This investment will not only provide a stable, inspiring environment for our students but also strengthen community ties and ensure a lasting legacy for future generations.
The Academy provides instruction in either Serbian or Russian.

Enrollment begins with preschool (age 3) and continues through the eighth grade, with class sizes kept small to maintain a favorable student-teacher ratio. Our highly trained, experienced, and dedicated faculty is committed to upholding the highest educational standards while embracing the values of traditional Orthodox upbringing. Students benefit from a holistic approach that integrates rigorous academics with spiritual growth, including participation in church services, communion, confessions, and daily prayers, ensuring a well-rounded education rooted in faith and community.

It is with great joy, gratitude, and excitement that I introduce myself as the new Principal of St. Sava Academy.
From the moment I first learned about St. Sava, I was immediately drawn to the deep sense of faith, community, and commitment to academic excellence that defines this school. Now, having officially joined the St. Sava family, I feel truly honored and blessed to be part of such a special community.
I have a deep passion for supporting students, partnering with families, and building uplifting school communities where everyone feels welcome, valued, and inspired. I am excited to bring that with me to St. Sava Academy!
At the heart of my leadership is connection. I believe that the strongest schools are built on genuine relationships among students, teachers, families, and the broader community. School is not just a place to learn; it should feel like a second home where each individual is celebrated, valued and deep friendships are born. As a first-generation American of Russian and Ukrainian heritage, I deeply value the role that tradition, culture, and faith play in shaping our lives and learning. Saint Sava Academy Welcomes Its New Board of Trustees!
We are joyful to announce that His Eminence Metropolitan Longin, Archbishop of New Gracanica and Chicago and Metropolitan of Midwestern America, has formally approved and blessed the new Board of Trustees of Saint Sava Academy!
With Deepest Gratitude: We offer heartfelt thanks to our outgoing board members for their sacrifices, time, and love for Orthodox education. We are profoundly grateful to Peter Vezmar (Interim President), whose leadership was instrumental in acquiring the property that now houses our Academy; to Samantha Lazich, PhD, for her many years of faithful and dedicated service; and to Gabrielle Dzwinyk, who served diligently as Board Secretary and, as a proud alumna, represents the enduring legacy of our school. May our Lord Jesus Christ reward each of them abundantly for their stewardship!
